Deu. 18:15, 18-19
YHWH your Mighty One will raise up for you a prophet from your midst, from your brothers like me. Him you all shall obey.
I will raise up a prophet from among their brothers like you. And I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.
And it shall come about that whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in My name, I will require it of him.”
YHWH chose Moses to bring His people out of slavery in the land of Egypt. He also chose Moses to deliver His words to the children of Israel. Moses was faithful to YHWH and did both tasks. For this, Moses was honored as Israel’s first and greatest prophet.
Deu. 34:10
And since that time no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom YHWH knows face to face.”
And yet, YHWH told Moses that He would raise up another prophet like him. He said that He would put His words in that prophet’s mouth.
YHWH told Moses that this prophet would speak His words to the people of Israel and that they had better listen to him. The following verses (Deu. 18:20-22) speak of discerning between a true and a false prophet.
Deuteronomy 18:20 specifically mentions a false prophet. This references back to what he had told the people in 13:4
You shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For YHWH your Mighty One is testing you to find out if you love YHWH your Mighty One with all your heart and with all your soul.”
When Deuteronomy 18:21-22 and 13:2-4 are taken together, one can see a more complete picture. BOTH accurately predicting the future, and speaking in the name of YHWH, authenticates a true prophet.
Speaking in the name of YHWH means speaking on His behalf. YHWH would never tell His people to go astray from the words He delivered to them through His prophet Moses.
Before He sends us His true prophet, the “Prophet like Moses” (Deu. 18:15, 18), whom we must obey (Deu. 18:15b, 19), He tests us by sending us false prophets (Deu. 13:4).
When we pass the test by loving Him with all our hearts and souls, clinging to Him, and obeying Him, He will send us His Messiah.
On an individual basis, this happens simultaneously. YHWH sends the Spirit of the Messiah into a person’s life to help them pass the test.
Nationally, when enough individuals come to Him, He will send His Messiah to establish a Kingdom on earth. This coincides with the Blessing He promised our ancestors.

Shabbat Shalom dear Brother.
That was a very good Word. Thank you for sharing it.
The Words of YAH through you today were like honey upon my lips. 🤗☝️😍❤️🔥
I Believe that YAH has given me a Word….starting from
Ephesians 4:11-16 KJVS
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; [12] For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: [13] Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: [14] That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; [15] But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: [16] From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”
… And I ask you as I’ve asked many pastors of late as well as other elders of the church or churches…. what church (singular)has all the gifts in it???
And if the answer be none, then what must be done in order to bring the gifts together in order to fulfill the footage that God is requiring and in order for Him to receive the former and the latter rain?
It’s been years since we’ve really talked and encourage one another. I pray that you and yours are well. We need to talk over the phone sometime when you get a chance.
I’m in Spokane Valley Washington.
Shalom and a Shabbat shalom,Beloved.
Jacob McKessey says
From the Haftorah (Isa. 52:8 JPS)
This prophecy states that YHWH will return to Zion. This is reminiscent of an older prophecy in which Moses (Deu. 30:3) proclaimed:
This follows the preceding verse that says:
When we read this entire prophecy, we can see that YHWH will turn our captivity and return after we first return to Him.
This is also what He revealed through the prophet Zekariah:
(Zec. 1:3 JPS)
This is again repeated in Malachi 3:7. All these prophets, speaking in the same Spirit, spoke these words: “YHWH will return to Zion and turn our captivity when we return to His teaching.”
Jeremiah frequently prophesied of the end of our captivity (29:14; 30:3, 10, 18; 31:23; 32:44; 33:7, 11, 26; 46:27). Ezekiel (39:25), Hoshea (6:11), Joel (3:1), Amos (9:14), Zephaniah (2:7; 3:20), and David also prophesied (Psa. 14:7 = 53:6) of this time.
They also prophesied, in the name of YHWH, saying that He will gather us “one from a city and two from a family” (Jer. 3:14) and “one by one” (Isa. 27:12) until “none are left” (Eze. 39:28).
YHWH said He would gather us from “the coasts of the earth” (Jer. 31:8) and “all the lands where He had banished us” (Jer. 16:15; 23:3; 29:14; Eze. 34:12; 37:21) —even from “all countries” (Jer. 32:37; Eze. 11:17; 36:24) to the “corners of the earth” (Isa. 11:12).
YHWH spoke through these men, and through Moses (Deu. 30:4) who stated:
According to the prophecies of Moses (Deu. 30:2-3), Isaiah (52:8 JPS), and Zekariah (1:3 JPS; Cf. Mal. 3:7), YHWH will return to earth once we return to Him.
And as Isaiah also prophesied, YHWH will not only return to ethnic Israel, but to everyone who returns to Him and His Messiah by loving His Name, His Sabbaths, and His Covenant. Isa. 56:3-8.
